The Dream Jean & a Catch-Up
Happy Sunday guys. I thought I’d start this week’s blog post with a little bit of a catch-up. You may have noticed that there was no blog-post from me last week. I’ve made the decision to move to publishing my blog-posts every second week. I want to keep making the best content that I can, to the level that I would like. I’m hopeful that having that additional week in between posts will give me the opportunity to do just that. It’s definitely a quality over quantity situation, but you can still expect plenty of content over on my Instagram between blog-posts, so do keep an eye out!
Moving along to today’s post - I know I originally said that I would be back this week with the second part of my new mini-series (staying stylish for winter), but I just couldn’t help but take a short interval to talk about my most recent denim purchase. Yes, I realise that this is becoming a jeans fan account, and I most definitely have a jeans problem - but I think I’ve finally found the perfect pair which I just had to share with you all!
So here they are - the Levi Ribcage Straight Ankle jean. I tracked these down at the Livingston Designer outlet (pre covid restrictions), and managed to snap them up for half price, which made it all the sweeter!
“A new location for your blog photos Ellie?!” I hear you say - yes indeed! Mum and I thought that it would be fun to mix things up a bit so we opted to take photos in the conservatory whilst the sun was still out (but don’t worry, there are garden photos to come, ha).
Anyway, back to the jeans - they have everything that I’m looking for with the dark blue colourway, straight leg, slim through the hip, high waisted and a low-stretch denim - i.e, the perfect combination! They sit perfectly at the ankle and are super flattering from all angles. For reference, I’m about 5 ft 8 and opted for the 29” leg. These are a wee bit of a departure from my usual cropped style (never thought I’d see the day!), but I really love how these fall on the ankle. Believe it or not, this is my first real venture in to the world of Levis (how did it take me so long), and I’m so glad that I made the leap. I feel like I’m going to have these bad boys for years because the quality is top notch, they’re a timeless style and not trend driven. They also go with pretty much everything in my wardrobe.
For this outfit, I decided to keep it super simple and pair the jeans with my new jumper which was a great charity shop find. I picked it up in Stockbridge a couple of weeks ago because I was really taken with the colour (brown/mushroomy tones), and again knew that it would go with loads - especially at this time of the year. It’s also 100% wool and machine washable (bonus!). I really like the high neck on this jumper, as well as the fact that I can easily tuck it in to my jeans, which is my usual go-to for styling knitwear. As usual, I decided to wear my Missoma x Lucy Williams Malachite necklace with it to complete the outfit.
Mum and I then decided to move things outside and get a couple of full-length snaps out in the garden (standard). In all honesty, I was bloody freezing taking these photos, but I just wanted to show you the jeans in all of their glory - the things I do for this blog, eh! (Ignore the less than dreamy background vibes here) -
So there we have it guys - my new favourite pair of jeans. What do you think? If you’re in the market for a new pair of straight-leg jeans, you know what to do .. just sayin’! Items from my outfit will be linked down below (as always), and I’ll link alternatives if what I’m wearing is no longer available. I will be back again not next Sunday but the one after with the next part of my mini-series (I promise!), and I hope that you are looking forward to it.
Thank you again for all of your support for my blog - it really does mean the world guys.
Lots of love,
El xx
