Well, Hello!

As I write this, I’m currently sitting at my kitchen table with the glorious sunshine streaming in through the window.  I figured that now was as good a time as any to have a crack at writing my first proper blog post. It’s something that I’ve been toying with for some time now, but have never quite found the courage to actually give it a go.  It’s always been a case of ‘well, I’m not interesting enough’, or ‘who cares about what I think about XYZ’ .. well, enough of that attitude.  If not now, then when - right?!

This is probably a good time to introduce myself, as well as outline some of the very provisional plans that I have for this blog.  My name is Ellie McCartney, I’m 26 years old, and I’m based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I hope to fill this little space on the internet with all of the things that I love, and what makes me, me.  That may include photography, fashion, travel, art (of all forms), lifestyle, reviews etc.  I don’t fully know at this point, but I’m really excited to make a start, and to begin to have something of a creative outlet. I think it's really important to have some form of outlet, and it's something I've both neglected and craved - particularly over covid-19/more recent months. So, I'm thinking of trying to write up a blog post once per week, depending on how things go.

Below are a couple of snaps from a recent family trip. As someone who used to proclaim to be a 'City Girl', I've recently been loving the countryside more and more. It's SUCH a cliche, but I personally find it so beneficial to take some time away from the hustle and bustle of every day life - to truly switch off, be around loved ones, and hug trees (apparently?!).

So, hello to anyone out there reading this (if there is anyone!). Make yourself at home, and do make sure to comment down below, so that we can have a chat. I’m keen to get to know as many of you as possible, and for this to be a very sociable space. I'm also keen to hear any words of wisdom or suggestions that you may have for running and using a blog. I'm very much open to ideas!
Now I have the task of trying to make this blog look pretty .. wish me luck!

Lots of love,

Ellie x
