A Pop of Red

Well, here we are again. My third Sunday blog post - ain’t this starting to become a nice wee tradition? I’m certainly loving it! I must say, it’s been so lovely to see you guys head on over to my wee corner of the internet for a browse.  It turns out that I really loved writing my fashion post last week, and would like to continue that theme.  So, here I am with the next instalment.  Today I'm looking at a way to inject a wee bit of colour and interest in to an otherwise monochrome outfit, via the humble neckerchief.

This really is a go-to outfit of mine. It’s perfect for days when you’re wanting to keep to a paired-back look (pretty much me everyday).   This fleece from Weekday (via Asos) is so soft, comfortable and easy to wear/style up.  I decided to pair it with my trusty BDG straight leg jeans (read last weeks blog post for more info on those!), a white t-shirt, black converse, black canvas bag, and last but not least, a red neckerchief.

I love rocking a bit of colour using this accessory - I always think it adds a point of interest to an otherwise simple outfit.  It’s such an easy styling piece, which I always like to have in my arsenal.  What I particularly love about it is it's versatility - whilst I'm showing you just one way of styling it, it would look amazing with a classic breton striped top, a denim shirt (for ultimate western vibezzz), or a jumper (I'm thinking grey). There's also a million different ways of tying it - I’m not particularly precious about how I tie my neckerchief, but I do tend to just fold the points together to create a triangle, and fold the piece again length ways to create a long, thin band.  I then tie that around my neck with a knot, and position the knot in the middle or side of the neck. Voilà!

I’ve been wracking my brain trying to remember where I bought my neckerchief from, but cannot remember for the life of me.  Anyway, I’ve linked an alternative below, which is equally lovely.  More and more brands are bringing out really interesting neckerchief and light scarf designs (particularly & Other Stories). You should all keep an eye out! So -  a fairly short and sweet blog-post today, but one which I hope you found useful in some way. I also hope to see you all rocking your neckerchief's soon! As already mentioned, all of my outfit details can be found below.  I've also stuck my other social media channels down below, for you guys to have a browse.

Thanks everyone!
